Kendrick Lamar fires back at Drake
Kendrick Lamar has fired back at Drake’s recent diss tracks with his latest offering, “Euphoria.” The tension between the two artists has been brewing for some time, and Lamar doesn’t hold back in his response.
In “Like That,” Lamar throws some pointed jabs at Drake, along with a few words for J. Cole. Drake retaliates with tracks like “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” the latter incorporating vocals emulating 2Pac, which didn’t sit well with the late rapper’s estate.
Lamar’s “Euphoria” starts off mellow but builds up as he addresses Drake directly towards the end of the first verse, calling him out as a manipulator and habitual liar. The intensity ramps up as Lamar cleverly plays on Drake’s name and references his previous tracks, particularly “Taylor Made Freestyle.”
Not stopping there, Lamar also mentions J. Cole, Drake, and even brings Pusha T into the mix, questioning Drake’s credibility as a father, echoing Pusha T’s infamous diss track, “The Story of Adidon.”
The response to “Euphoria” has been mixed, with longtime collaborator Jay Rock praising Lamar’s authenticity, while Metro Boomin, who worked on “Like That,” shares cryptic messages on social media.
